Fazle Lohani

Fazle Lohani (Bengali: ফজেল লোহানী) (1928 – 30 October 1985) was born at the village Kaulia in Sirajganj District, Bangladesh. He was the host of the popular TV show Jodi Kichu Mone Na Koren aired on Bangladesh Television.

Career

Lohani published a weekly, The Purbabangla from Dhaka in 1947 and The Agatya, a popular monthly magazine of literature and culture in 1949. After working as a journalist in the homeland for few years, he went to England and worked for the BBC. Following his return, he pursued a career as a journalist and writer.

He penned the legendary song "Salam salam hajar salam..." sung by Abdul Jabbar and broadcasted by Shadhin Bangla Betar Kendro in 1971.[1]

He directed and hosted the TV program Jodi Kichu Mone Na Koren between 1977 and until his death in 1985. He also produced a film titled Pension.[2]
